We harvest ~1000 elk every year in Jackson Hole, Wyoming (including in Grand Teton National Park)

A gutpile is left at every kill
Ravens feast on those guts
and cache the meat for later eating

Raven nest density in Jackson Hole is record high and rising
Road-kill for me to catch ravens

Ravens are even attracted toward rifle file during the hunting season

Mount Moran
We feed elk pelletized alfalfa to reduce mortality during winter

The elk love it - they always come running
Many people love it too, because they don't have to watch elk starve during winter, and it leaves more elk to be hunted next fall. Hmmm...
